New York Comic Con was an exhilarating four-day event, attracting over 200,000 attendees. VeeFriends had the incredible opportunity to engage with new and familiar fans and introduce ourselves to a massive, diverse audience. From exciting booth interactions to conversations with passionate collectors, it was a chance to connect with so many in the heart of pop culture. Of course, no VeeFriends event is complete without our amazing community! Their presence and energy made NYCC even more special, creating an epic atmosphere of excitement and support. We’re so grateful for the continued enthusiasm that makes every VeeFriends appearance truly memorable.
VeeFriends and Topps kicked off our long-term partnership at NYCC, debuting the first collectible in this exciting collaboration. Attendees were treated to the first-ever VeeFriends 2024 Topps Chrome Notorious Ninja Promo Card, and the excitement was palpable! The booth was constantly packed with fans eager to grab this rare collectible, showcasing the energy and anticipation for this partnership.
VeeFriends and Funko made a splash with their exclusive POP! Jolly Jack-O at NYCC, and it was a major success! The limited-edition Jolly Jack-O figure was a hit, selling out quickly at the Funko booth. Fans flocked to get their hands on this exclusive collectible, making it one of the standout moments of the convention.
The 2024 VeeFriends Trading Card Game Championship Tournament in New York City saw 64 competitors from four countries battling for the top spot. The tournament winner was VeeFriends sophomore collector SaugyWaffles, who triumphed over seed tournament winner and VeeFriends card enthusiast Ron Jordan in a thrilling final round.
Gary Vaynerchuk appeared, visiting tables, signing cards, and giving a speech about the significance of these intimate tournaments, highlighting how they’ll be remembered as the “good old days” for the VeeFriends community.
The tournament followed a Swiss round format, where players needed to win three out of five games to advance to the knockout rounds. The champion will receive a pure gold commemorative trophy card featuring the Perfect Persian Cat, while all participants will receive a pure silver version, both shipping out by the end of the year.
